Winner of the TRACE 2024-2025 competition,
Annika Diehl exhibit in our 2 art galleries.
Annika Diehl is an artist and illustrator passionate about nature, people, communities, and the stories they tell. Her preferred mediums include acrylic and watercolor, and occasionally mixed media, as they have allowed her to best express the subtleties she seeks to translate her vision.
Whether depicting a landscape or the passing gaze of a stranger, Annika gravitates toward subjects that allow her to tell a story, hoping to evoke a feeling or memory, and even offer a path forward for navigating the challenging world we live in today.
With a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting and drawing, she also has a diverse background in the arts, including music and theater. She has spent the last twenty years working independently, illustrating, and teaching art to children and adults in various communities. Teaching and connecting with people have become an important part of her creative process.
Recently, Annika has been devoting more time to her personal creations, painting landscapes, exploring remote communities, and learning from their stories. Her recent travels have taken her to Iqaluit, Nunavut, and the Serengeti, Tanzania. Annika continues to teach classes in her art studio in Vaudreuil-Dorion.
